What is the first appointment like?

Dean will begin by asking you general health questions since there are some conditions for which massage is not appropriate.

For a full-body massage, most people undress completely, though you may choose to wear underwear.  You are given privacy to undress and you are completely covered while receiving your massage except for the area being massaged (arm, leg, back, etc.)

You will relax on a padded, heated table.  The room will be quiet with soft music to set a relaxing mood.

For many techniques light oil or lotion is used, although for certain types of bodywork no lubricant is used at all.

The massage generally starts with relatively light pressure and increases to deeper pressure.  Dean will ask you periodically if the pressure is too much or painful.

Make yourself comfortable.  Most people like to doze during a massage, others prefer to talk.  Do whatever makes you the most comfortable.   It’s your massage, enjoy!
